Musings on the Childfree Lifestyle and our Child-Centric Society
Good article! So, so glad that will never be me and my husband.
Wow. That was...that gave me chills. And I can't lie - it gave me such a warm sense of comfort to know that that will never, ever be my husband.Great find.
That has to be one of the saddest things I've ever read.
I think this part is interesting:..."But isn't this what happens in life -- that what I remember was a time, not a thing, and we can no more recapture those versions of ourselves than we can travel to ancient Rome? That a normal part of becoming an adult, of raising a family together, is leaving behind treasured swaths of the love affair that got us here -- the mindless lust, the inside jokes, the laughter? Perhaps. But even so, selfish though it may be, I miss my wife."Yes, this is what happens in life- TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE KIDS. It's not what happens in my marriage.
I agree, Childfreeeee. The "a normal part of becoming an adult" bit made me both enraged and saddened.I am very much an adult, thank you very much. I think most parents must tell themselves this, must believe it's inevitable, in order to continue each day.No. Thank. You.
