Thanks to Wag the Dog for forwarding me this article from Parenting.com in which a dad discusses how having kids has wreaked havoc on his marriage.

Good article! So, so glad that will never be me and my husband.

Wow. That was...that gave me chills. And I can't lie - it gave me such a warm sense of comfort to know that that will never, ever be my husband.

Great find.

That has to be one of the saddest things I've ever read.

I think this part is interesting:

..."But isn't this what happens in life -- that what I remember was a time, not a thing, and we can no more recapture those versions of ourselves than we can travel to ancient Rome? That a normal part of becoming an adult, of raising a family together, is leaving behind treasured swaths of the love affair that got us here -- the mindless lust, the inside jokes, the laughter? Perhaps. But even so, selfish though it may be, I miss my wife."

Yes, this is what happens in life- TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE KIDS. It's not what happens in my marriage.

I agree, Childfreeeee.

The "a normal part of becoming an adult" bit made me both enraged and saddened.

I am very much an adult, thank you very much. I think most parents must tell themselves this, must believe it's inevitable, in order to continue each day.

No. Thank. You.
