Childfree Celebrity Spotlight - Vincent Kartheiser

Fans of AMC series, Mad Men, may be delighted to learn that actor Vincent Kartheiser, who plays the role of ambitious ad man, Pete Campbell, is childfree by choice. In this clip from MSNBC, Vincent talks about his efforts to live an environmentally-friendly life, and how being childfree furthers those efforts. Thanks to Claire-Marie for the link.

Heads up on a childfree-by-choice debate heating up on Marketplace after commentator Sydney Lagier explained how she was able to retire early at the age of 44. Her best tip on planning for an early retirement -- Don't have kids.

I love Vincent K., both on Mad Men and as a human being. I am really impressed that he made it clear that remaining childfree is an excellent way to save/protect our planet. Go, Vincent! :)

Cool! I was watching my season 3 DVD of "Mad Men" when I opened up your blog and saw this post...and in fact, it was a Pete Campbell scene (the one where he runs into Joan at Bonwit Teller, and she helps him replace the dress ruined by his neighbor's au pair). Interestingly, for a brief few episodes on "Mad Men," he and Trudy talked about how they liked their life as just the two of them, and that it was fine if she wasn't able to have children. So I was kind of disappointed when Tammy was born at the end of last season...
