I always think it's interesting to check in at SiteMeter to see where readers come from and how people land here. Here are the most recent searches that have landed people here. Thought you might find this interesting.
"changing nappies at other peoples houses" (I love that word - "nappies"!)
"reasons not to have a kid"
"reasons not to have kids"
"Childfreedom" (lots of these)
"reasons for people to not have children"
"does anyone regret having children"
"I am regretting having children"
"100 reasons to have children" (the person who put this search term in then clicked on the post "The Top 101 Reasons Not to Have Kids - and Remain Childfree") - interesting.

Just came across this in NYTimes today: Mothers in Crisis Turn to Temporary ‘Parents’

yeah, i think childfreedom is a blip because that would be me (at least largely in part). whenever i visit your site (often) i google childfreedom and link from there because im too lazy to type it all in and have been too lazy to bookmark
The first time I ever encountered the word "childfree" was after I discovered that our closest couple friends were expecting. (The fun ones that we used to go on river trips with.) I googled "what do you do when all your friends are having babies?" I was so relieved to discover that I was not alone in:
1. Having no desire to have kids
2. Experiencing an odd feeling of grief when I found out I was "losing" one of my friends to parenthood.
lootwalmart (LOVE that username by the way)
Yes, I figure the "childfreedom" searches are people who already know my blog and are looking for it.
Megs,
Your comment made me think back and try to remember the first time I heard the term "childfree". I don't remember the exact moment I heard it, but I do remember having the thought "AWESOME!" at what a perfect term it is.
Of course, it's not a perfect term to parents who think it is disparaging to children (children are something that one would want to be FREE of?), and I suppose it is disparaging to a degree, but it's honestly how I feel. I feel FREE of children and blessed with all kinds of abundance BECAUSE I am free of them. I certainly don't feel that not having them is any kind of lack (i.e. "childLESS").
